Modern Contemporary Furniture Bed Sets

The term "contemporary design" is often associated with open, uncluttered spaces, resulting in a look that has a sort of a "clean" feel to it. Contemporary design also usually replaces traditional squares and rectangles with curves and color schemes that can either be vibrant and subdued, depending on individual tastes.

Contemporary furniture sets usually follow this trend and as a result, are quite appealing to the eyes and senses. Contemporary furniture are available as collections for different rooms, such as the living room, dining room, bedroom, children's room, etc. The number and type of pieces in each collection varies, with the more expensive collections obviously having a greater number of furniture pieces of greater variety.

For example, contemporary furniture for the bedroom would usually consist of a king or queen sized bed, a chest, a mirror, nightstand, vanity set, lingerie chest and man's chest. Similarly, contemporary furniture for the kitchen are bar sets, bar and counter stools, bar tables, buffets, chairs, dining sets, hutches, cabinets, kitchen carts and tables. Furniture sets for children's bedrooms usually consist of a brightly colored toy chest, accompanied by matching bed designs.

Contemporary furniture in the bedroom would have a wedge finish (Italian finishes are the rage) and feature straight, simple and sleek lines. The headboard normally has a light over each nightstand. Adjustable pillow back rests can also be fitted. The most popular style of bed features in contemporary designs is a platform with no box springs. These beds are located quite close to the ground and consist of a low-lying platform with a mattress.

European contemporary furniture and design are quite popular, with the Italian designs being the most famous of them all. The more expensive the contemporary furniture set, the greater the chances of it being handcrafted.
